Silent films, when originally shown, were accompanied by an organ, piano, and sometimes a full orchestra.  A good score enhances the action, but never overshadows it. Wayne Zimmerman has been accompanying films on the organ for this Silent Film Series since it began in 2011.

The shorts starring Charlie Chaplin, from 1916, are the following: The Rink is about an inept waiter who spends his lunch break at the roller rink. Chaplin did all of his own skating in this comedic tour-de-force. The Pawnshop is the story of a clerk who examines items to determine their value. An alarm clock is of particular and comic interest to Chaplin. In One A.M., Chaplin  returns home after having had too much to drink.  Every object he encounters becomes a humorous adversary.
