The Theme for Our 2015 Season: "Unexpected Encounters" 

NOTE: Season Tickets come in a packet of 4 = $80 and they may be used at at any time, i.e. use all 4 for one show, or come to 4 different shows.  We do appreciate knowing that you're coming to show, so please let us know when you are going to use them.  Ticket prices: $30; $25 senior; $15 student; and ages 12 and under free 

March 20-21 at 8:00: Holmes and Carter Mysteries  Step back in time with two different “who-dun-its” presented as radio-style broadcasts, complete with live sound effects and commercials, with two great detectives.  In Sherlock Holmes Adventure of the Copper Beeches, a governess believes there are strange happenings at the estate where she’s employed.  Nick Carter and the Strange Dr. Devolo finds Carter and his friends trying to discover why Manhattan millionaires are missing. In both mysteries, the same six actors portray different characters, jumping from Holmes' Victorian England, to Carter's world of New York during World War II.

June 17-July 25: Mr. Lincoln (Wed.-Sat. 8:30; no show on July 4; show on Sun. July 5) by Herbert Mitgang, was on Broadway in 1980. On Good Friday, April 14,1865, the President is watching Our American Cousin at Ford’s Theater. As John Wilkes Booth aims a pistol at his head, Lincoln's life flashes before him. Selected to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of Lincoln’s assassination, it will star Tom Byrn.

July 29-Sept 5 (Wed.-Sat. 8:30): Huckleberry Finn, a world premiere based on the Mark Twain classic in which a young boy and a slave set sail on the Mississippi. Adapted by James Rana, who’s other adaptations first produced by ELTC include Zorro!, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and The Poe Mysteries – all enjoyed by audiences from ages 5 – 95.  

Sept. 23 - Oct. 17: Strictly Dishonorable (Wed.-Sat. 8:00; no show on Wed. Oct. 7; show on Sun. Oct. 11 at 7:30) a Broadway comedy by Preston Sturges from 1929 set in a Manhattan speakeasy where a  Southern belle and her fiancé from West Orange, NJ, encounter a witty judge, an opera singer, and several outgoing Italians. By the end of 1929, Sturges was writing for Paramount, and soon after also directing his own films which included The Great McGinty, The Lady Eve, and Sullivan’s Travels.

Nov. 6-7 at 8:00: Detectives Holmes and Carter  ELTC’s popular vintage-radio style production, complete with live sound effects and commercials, with two NEW mysteries back-to-back on the same night, with the cast of six going from Holmes’ Victorian England, to Carter’s Manhattan during World War II. The scripts are Sherlock Holmes Adventure of the Red-Headed League and Nick Carter and the Voice of Crime, the 2nd-ever Carter radio mystery from 1943, used with permission by Conde Nast.  

Nov. 27, 28, Dec. 6, 10, 11, 12 at 8:00 with a 2:00 matinee on Dec. 12: The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, based on the L. Frank Baum (The Wizard of Oz) classic tale that answers such questions as how Claus was raised, when did he make his first toy, and where he obtained flying reindeer. Adapted and performed by Gayle Stahlhuth.  When last performed in 2010, it was designated an “American Masterpiece” as part of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Masterpieces Series.
